A big congrats to our first member of the month, Lucy Greene! This is a new feature we’re doing every month. Our FC members nominate and vote for those they feel make the FC a better place, be it with helpfulness or just a great attitude that makes people feel at home. The member with the most votes gets a special FC rank for the duration of the month and is featured in an interview here on the site so that everyone can get to know them even better — the first of which you’re reading right now! So without further ado, get to know Lucy!
Q: How long have you been playing Final Fantasy XIV? How did you get into it?
I have been playing this game back in April of 2014, I just got my PS4 at that time and I had nothing to get other than Assassin’s Creed IV and people were saying FFXIV was really good on PS4.
Q: What do you consider your main job? What do you enjoy about it?
BRD. Ever since I was a kid I’ve always loved bows and arrows, so that played a huge factor into enjoying BRD. I love the way SB made them, making them a stronger support with the CRIT, healing buff as well as the damage reduction.
Q: What are your usual FFXIV activities?
Whenever I log into FF, I would do roulettes and then cosplay as a gnome and afk in front of the FC house.
Q: What’s one activity you’ve wanted to get into on FFXIV but haven’t been able to yet?
I’ve always wanted to ERP, that is my passion, but I usually don’t get the chance to do it and people would think I’m weird.
Q: What are your current in-game goals? Both short- and long-term.
My short-term goal in-game is to clear the Omega savage content, long term is conquer the demons that are inside me.
Q: Favorite boss fight, and why? Least favorite, and why?
Favorite boss hands down is Nael from T9. Back when I started raiding my friends and I made a group and we would do the fight nearly every day just to clear it. We never cleared it together but the fond memories or progressing and learning things from the fight made me love it to death and the music in the fight is a plus. My least favorite boss at the moment is Halicarnassus from Omega Savage floor 3, although Nael is mech vomit as well, Hali just wants you to lay down on the floor and cry in the fetal position.
Q: Share with us your fondest FFXIV memory!
My fondest memory from XIV would be when I killed at least 15+ people in PvP, ain’t nothing else thrilling than soaking in the blood of your enemies.
Q: What’s your biggest pet peeve in-game?
My biggest pet peeve at the moment is when people are new to either the class or dungeon and I see what they are struggling and when I give them some sort of advice, be it aggressive or not, the person would usually ignore the advice and continue to make life harder for them and the people they will end up doing other things with in the future.
Q: Yoshi-P comes to you and asks you to pick the jobs for the next expansion. What do you choose?
It has probably been said to death, and I would like to see Dancer as either a support dps or a healer class.
Q: Tell us about your history as a gamer!
I was introduced to gaming by my aunt when she bought me a N64 for my birthday and I played the hell out of F-Zero X. As time progressed my cousins introduced me to my first MMO which was Maplestory and that fucked like 3 years of my life, then I really got into shooters where I would play a lot of CoD or Battlefield.
Q: What’s your favorite game of all time? Why?
My favorite game as of now would be the Infamous games, I love the way the story was portrayed and that the choices you made in game would affect the outcome of the story’s end.
Q: Have you played other Final Fantasy titles before XIV? What’s your favorite FF?
I have played before XIV, I had only completed the XIII series and tiny chunks of FFIII, and a lot of people hated that installment which to me is “to each their own,” but in my way I liked it. My favorite FF game would be FFIII. I love how the characters were able to swap into any job they wanted, with a penalty of course, but the story too and the amazing music that I know and love from the FF series.
Q: Any games you’ve been wanting to play lately?
I don’t know if you guys heard, but I’ve been wanting to play the hot new mobile game FFXV: A New Empire.
Q: What’s your proudest gaming moment/achievement?
My proudest achievement would be getting a platinum trophy on Bioshock Infinite in one day.
Q: What’s your current occupation?
I’m a student working on getting my degree.
Q: Any family? Pets?
I have both my parents, two sister, and my punk dog Aero.
Q: What are your hobbies outside of playing games?
I really like hiking.
Q: What’s your favorite song?
Africa by Toto
Q: What websites do you frequent?
Q: Tell us a fact about you that we probably don’t know.
My name isn’t really LUCY :OOOO *dun dun dun*
Q: How did you come to join Spectrum?
From our FC mascot Cheshire Furst.
Q: How long have you been a member?
Long enough 😉
Q: What’s your favorite FC activity?
Shitposting on discord.
Q: Any shout-outs?
Shout outs to the Meme Team for making my FFXIV career have meaning, and to the rest of the FC for tolerating me, and a special shout out to mai boi Butthole Brian.
Q: You’ve been given an elephant. You can’t give it away or sell it. What would you do with the elephant?
I would ride the elephant everywhere instead of using my car which may or may not be more expensive than getting gas.
Q: If you could convince everyone in the world to do one thing at one point in time, what would that thing be?
I would convince everyone to play the HOT NEW MOBILE GAME FFXV: A NEW EMPIRE.
Q: A penguin walks through that door right now wearing a sombrero. What does he say and why is he here?
The penguin would say SI SENNNOORRRR and it is there because reasons.
Q: If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?
I would spend the unslept hours playing the HOT NEW MOBILE GAME FFXV: A NEW EMPIRE.
Q: If you were dictator of a small island nation, what crazy dictator stuff would you do?
If I was a dictator I would make all the citizens in that island play the hot new mobile game FFXV: A New Empire.
Q: What piece of entertainment do you wish you could erase from your mind so that you could experience for the first time again?
I wish to erase FFXV: A New Empire from my memory, so I can reexperience the glory of the game.
Q: You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why?
Green, because green is the color of the Gods and if you’re not a Greene, then you’re a square.
Now that you’ve heard what Lucy has to say about himself, what about what other people have to say about him? Clearly we appreciate him, but let’s look at why! To round this out, I’ve gathered a few statements from our members about why they feel Lucy deserves to be recognized.
First of all, it’s because Lucy is a good cook. He cook me pork kakunis so I won’t starve myself to death during savages raids. But his cooking skill isn’t enough to be in masterchef. And Lucy’s dream is to be recognized by senpais, he’s always a tsundere but has always been superkind and helpful. So yeah. SENPAI NOTICED YOU, POPS!

Kenny is always willing to help someone in the free company as long as it is not for personal gain. He doesn’t always do things and doesn’t advertise himself as a helper, but if someone needs help with something he is willing to do what he can when he is available to.

If you want to know why Lulu’s the ideal example of a MoTM, you should check out the hot new mobile game Lucy Greene: Dad Simulator. Featuring an updated arensal of sarcastic (and slightly insulting) jokes all designed to help you develop character. Kenny, you OP. Thank you for being a pal.

A year and a half ago, I thought Kenny was a girl. Now I know that he is not a girl.
But on a serious note, I have been incredibly appreciative of the sheer amount of work that Kenny has put into maintaining certain FC facilities and only expecting people to not be assholes in return (this is a large assumption I refuse to redact). His increasing openness to socialization in the FC as well has been a welcome addition, and I’m glad to have him around as a voice in my head and on my computer screen.

my comment is just “kenny”
